3rd Wed. of the month. The very popular open mike show, hosted by Tim King, slam winning performance poet, and Morwenna Griffiths, poet, actress and poetry columnist for the Express and Echo. At the Exeter Pheonix Arts Centre, Gandy Street, Exeter. Fully accessible venue. Ramp via West Entrance. Performing poets, stand-ups, singer songwriters… 3-5 minute slots available on a first come first served basis. It books up usually within 24 hours of the previous event, but if you miss that, you can join the reserve list, as some people do drop out. Access; Two sets of 2 or 3 steps, not steep, assistance available, but not yet easily wheelchair accessible. Bristol’s premiere open mic night for all things spoken and performed. Doors 7.15 for 8.15 show. General info; Shows start at 8.15pm Register to perform at 7.45pm prompt. Ends 11.30pm. Poets, musicians, storytellers, magicians and many other intrepid performers have graced the stage at Acoustic Night. They feature special guests throughout the year. P.A provided and limited leads available. Half the 10 minute slots are spoken word – around 8, so do arrive promptly as they go fast. Entry £2 for all, to cover costs like posters and the excellent sound system, more for special events. Donations welcomed.
